This moderate hike will take us through a forest of large trees and we’ll stop at one of the popular waterfalls along the way. We may be able to see lots of early wildflowers blooming. Many former homesteads use to be in this area and are now piles of rocks. At 2.1 miles, we come to the spur trail that takes us to Hen Wallow Falls which is a great spot for a break. Continuing on, we’ll look for Silverbells, Fraser Firs, and Beech Trees. At 4.8 miles, we arrive at campsite #34 where we’ll take another break (perhaps with other campers). The next two creeks are rock hoppers, so pack water shoes just in case the water is high. At 6.6 miles, we come to an intersection of trails, and will turn right to walk the final mile to our car. We’ll meet at 8:30 am ET at the Cosby Campground. To join, please contact Larry Marchese at 615-681-2294, or email me at lmarchese2@gmail.com. Gas cost $12. Photos: Cheryl
