Wednesday, May 15, 2013 Hike -- Graysville, TN to Hwy 30 Section of the Cumberland Trail

The Graysville to Hwy 30 section of the Cumberland Trail trail is a new hike. The trail was completed during spring breakaway this year. This is an in-and-out 8 mile hike which starts out following a stream for a moderate climb up to the overlook (Graysville and Hwy 303). The hike will continue along a ridge to the end of this section. The trail is not currently complete to Hwy 30 because CTC has not acquired the last section of land yet. Lunch will be at the overlook. The trail is rated moderate due to the climb at the start, and is fairly easy for the remaining portion. Depart from Trinity Tabernacle Church at 8:00 am CT. Gas cost is $6. Photos: Pat
