Saturday, September 28, 2013, Hike -- Maude's Crack, Big South Fork, Jamestown

This hike is a loop that descends to the bottom of No Business Gorge, and then follows the creek for a mile or so to the rim of the gorge. The last 100 feet of the climb is through Maude's Crack. There are relics of an early 20th century settlement along No Business Creek. The hike is approximately 7 miles and rated moderate because of the rugged terrain, a stream crossing, and one climb. Water shoes may be necessary to wade through water. Depart Cracker Barrel at 8:00 am CT. For more information and to register, contact Curt Thomas at curtethomas@frontiernet.net or phone: 931-260-2140. Gas cost $8. Photos: Pat Jim
