Wednesday, February 3, 2016, Walk -- Stonehenge Golf Course in Fairfield Glade
For a winter change-of-pace, you will have a choice of easy to moderate 5, 7, or 8 walks around Stonehenge golf course cart paths in Fairfield Glade. The 8 mile walk will start at Bill and Carol Q's house (155 Cromwell Lane) to a 1.5 mile walk on a path through the woods to Stonehenge. Next is a walk on the 2.5 mile path of the back 9 holes (includes nice landscape scenes, and a killer down and up hill). Then, we will walk the front 9 holes for 2.5 miles. This adventure will end with a walk back through the woods to the Q's house. The 7 mile walk uses roadways to Stonehenge instead of the wooded path, cutting out about 1/2 mile each way. Lastly, the 5 mile walk requires you to drive to the Stonehenge parking lot by 8:45 am CT and wait to join the hikers starting at the Q's home. Whichever option is chosen, we should finish around Noon. Hiking equipment is not necessary, just wear sneakers or walking shoes. For those who do not live in the Glade and want to carpool, depart from the Vanity Fair west parking lot at 8:00am CT. Others arrive at the Q's house around 8:15 am. Call Bill or Carol at 484-4230 for questions or directions. Optionally, if anyone wants to have lunch in the Glade, there are Mexican and Italian restaurants in the Glade Mall. Photos: Clark
