We will do two
hikes. The first hike will be 5 miles at Big Ridge on a combination of trails
where we will see wildlife, wildflowers, and a 1930's Civilian Conservation
Corps dam. The second hike will be a 3 mile loop trail near Norris Dam where we
will see wildflowers and nice bluffs. This trail follows the river bank with
many scenic views before going back into the woods for a return to the parking
lot. Both trails are rated moderate. Between
the two hikes we will have lunch at the Museum of Appalachia Café. Depart
Vanity Fair parking lot at 8:00 am CT.
Carpool cost is $7. For more information contact Cheryl Heckler at thehecklers@charter.net or 931-200-7436 or Bill
