This is a moderate 4 mile hike. From the trailhead, and for much of its length up to the Walker Sisters Place, the path follows a small stream known as Little Brier Branch. The wide path, once an old road, gradually climbs a hollow along the southwestern flank of Cove Mountain. The five spinster sisters who lived in the cabin were able to maintain their traditional mountain life until the last one died in 1964. On the way to the cabin is the Little Greenbrier School. The cemetery next to the school has one grave dated 1893. Hopefully, we will time it right to see the Mountain Laurel in bloom. We will have a snack at the cabin, and plan to go to Smoky Mt Brewery afterwards for a late lunch on the way home.  Depart at 8:00 am CT from Vanity Fair Parking lot SW corner. Gas cost $11. Photos: Cheryl, Pat
